A long with 34 other colleagues I attended this place for afternoon high tea, on Sunday 20th January 2019. Having telephoned on Tuesday to confirm my and 3 others diet needs, I was assured this would not be a problem. On arrival and being shown to our room, we where made to feel that our needs where a problem along with us, and we where making a fuss and surely we could make do. The food served to my colleagues was stale bread for the sandwiches, scones which fell to pieces and could only be eaten with a knife and fork, and shop cake nothing home made, also water in bottles was served at the table which had mould growing inside the bottle.Our booking was for 2pm and we where finally served at 3.45pm. It was the worse experience I have had, the food was terrible, the service was appalling, I shall not be recommending this place to any one. Definitely a place to avoid.
We had a very good meal at the hotel. The food was well presented and tasty without being overly expensive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be going again.
Lovely hotel with 20 plus rooms. The rooms were very spacious and the surroundings were beautiful and picturesque. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant and bar was good and wholesome. A good base to explore this part of Suffolk
I really like the location and the atmosphere in this hotel. It's very dog friendly too. We've stayed a couple of times for long weekends. The first time (October 2017) the food and service were outstanding. The second time (July 2018) it seemed to be different staff and the food/service were generally good but not quite as excellent as the first time. Hopefully just a blip. Will definitely return to this place another time.
